Extracurricular Activities -

Do you know that how you chose to spend the time after school and studies could be one of the most important ways to shape your kids future.

To impress colleges with one’s interest in extracurricular activities forms an integral part of your college application.  So, what is an extracurricular activity?  Anything that is not within the scope of a regular curriculum, that you participate in outside of class, it may be associated with the school you study like, sports  & sport team, or something you do independently. Inclusion could also be jobs, internships, some volunteer work that would have been done. These activities may become very useful later, which helps kid’s develop their talent, interest and passion, coupled with lots of practical skills development.

Extracurricular activities doe’s not necessarily have to be those promoted by your schools, it can be anything outside which could be doing something with your family or community that you live in. Extracurricular activity should be that demonstrates kids talent and help contribute something to the society

Taking part in extracurricular activities can help children in far many ways than one, it gives the opportunities in inspiring kids to explore their passion and interest, it provides with experience which leads to enrich their emotional and social development in addition to other related skills that may further help to lead a successful life.

As a parents, we often tend to worry if their kids participation in extracurricular activities, would affect their academic progress, on the contrary it provides an excellent avenue to get more to learning and it does not interfere in learning.  Participating in extracurricular activities helps boost child’s academic performance, further helping them to apply their learning acquired from the classroom leading to enhance concentration, self-discipline, time management skills, lead to more focus approach etc.

Extracurricular leads to build skills – participation leads to value addition in knowledge and build upon new skill sets. It could be anything, starting from sports, art workshop, music club, social service at the child can do basis the interest they have.

Socializing is equally important to the kids as it is for adults, hence participation in extracurricular activity will give the child a chance to interact with other kids with similar interest, will learn how to build friendship outside their circle, enhance confidence and ability to interact with everyone. Learning how to interact and getting along with others are very important aspect to be acquired.

For an overall development - Children engaged in these types of activities generally develop better communication skills, increased self-confidence, social connections, cognitively as well as physically and grow up to be an all-rounded individual who are likely to succeed in future.

Children learn more from outside the classrooms, their holistic growth benefits from extracurricular activities, focus more on the child’s overall development rather than just being good at academics.

At Empower Education, we encourage kids in participating in varied extra-curricular activities like learning different languages, build the interest in writing stories and poetry, building communication skills, public speaking techniques, time management which helps a holistic growth for the kid required for the present world out there.
